Terms For Buying, Selling, And Trading Used Books

• We do this mainly as a service; there is very little profit involved. Many good handicapping books have been dropped from print by major publishers and our goal is to keep them in circulation and give our customers the opportunity to buy, sell, and trade items of interest to the handicapping community.

• We accept good, used books on handicapping, horse racing, gambling, or closely-related topics in trade, or purchase outright.

  • If you have books on the subject to sell or trade, e-mail the titles and condition first.  No books will be accepted without prior approval.

  • If you have a significant number of books to sell or trade, e-mail us with the general information before going to the trouble to itemize.

  • We list most used books for sale at 50%, and purchase for cash at 25% of original price, or trade for merchandise at 33% of original price (these purchase percentages are actually a little higher than standard, used-bookstore practices). The exceptions to these purchase and trade rates are self-published booklets and pamphlets which are sometimes sold originally at very high prices (these are generally 8 1/2" x 11" stapled or comb bound pages). Prices paid for these types of publications vary, depending upon the author and original price.
