Customer Comments
Many of our customers have become friends over the years. Some of the comments below are from people like Mr. Sarber, who have been with us since the Speed Handicapper® program was a bunch of code that you typed in yourself from the back of the Handicapping Speed book. Others have joined only in the past few weeks. Here are what some of them have to say:
Mr. Carroll,
I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you your speed ratings
are the best I've seen. I've actually been involved in Horse
Racing hands on working on the backside and actually had my
trainers license some years back, got out of the business
and was not following the industry during the period when
your book came out. I missed it and I must say its a very
good read, thank you.
Don't take this the wrong way because your software is excellent,
best speed figs around that the whole world doesn't have,
of course I've love to see your private figs, lol... just
kidding. <Letter goes on to suggest new features for the
program>
Charles. I enjoyed both you book and your software...use the software nearly everyday.
I just
wanted to let you know that your software is unreal. I haven't
even came close to mastering
it, but using it with a strict betting strategy, I was able
to double my bankroll in 4 hours by,
get this, 830%! I know not to expect earnings like that on
a daily basis, but it's better than I
have experienced in the past from manually calculating speed
myself, and in around 1/6th of the
time.
(Hit the
winner of the 1st race at MNR, exacta and winner of the 3rd
race, and exacta and trifecta
of the 6th race at MNR yesterday)
I do have
a question however, how does the normalization files work?
this program
is HOT for small tracks
OK do I need the upgrade on same purchased [xx/xx/03]
please advise. Thanks Pete.
MORNIN
I HAVE THE 3.5 AND ALL I CAN SAY IS IT WORKS FINE.
I HIT THE 10TH RACE AT BEL. LAST SAT. 9-20-03
I HIT ALL 3 PAYOFFS MADE OVER $3300.00
3.5 PICKED THE 1ST 4 HORSES COLD. I BOXED THEM AND WON.
GREAT PROGRAM...

Speed
Handicapper was a real little jewel for me at Arapaho Park
during the
1998. Carroll speed is a great way to uncover some betting
opportunities among
those cheaper horses.

Can't resist telling you again how VERY, VERY much I'm enjoying your SPEED HANDICAPPER V3.02. I'm continually amazed at the ease of use and the results obtained if I am discerning enough to select the right pace line. (And I'm getting pretty good at that on occasion) <describes work on the Derby> Anyway, I am constantly aware of the work you and those who helped put into this effort. I'm not a programmer beyond very basic BASIC but I can recognize really good programming by its ease of use. And, again, I THANK you and your team for the end result. I handicap about two days a week and now, with ITS and V3.02, it is now FUN!! Take care.
Best regards, Fast Eddie.
<stuff deleted> And while I've got you on the line let me tell you what you already know: THIS IS THE MOST FANTASTIC SPEED PROGRAM EVER INVENTED. Thank you for letting me in on it . Sincerely,
Robert Lee
I'm really
impressed with the way in which ITS and DESERT SEA responded
to ITS' unfortunate situation RE: DRF's intransigence. I couldn't
have asked for a better response from either party. I learned
in the Navy to "Never say Never". But I don't think
I will ever buy another Daily Racing Form.
My sincere thanks to both of you. I'm a happy customer.
Best regards,
Ed Tolbert
[Note: the above reference to DRF occurred when they
suddenly pulled the plug on ITS and both ITS and we scrambled
to get our mutual customers back in business with working
data and programs.]
I think
your book, "Handicapping Speed" is one of the best
books I have read. I am not a professional handicapper, not
on the basis of the amount bet per race nor do I play daily,
however I have read and studied the books written by most
if not all the so called big name authors of handicapping
books. In my opinion yours is one of the top three on the
subject.

I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME--NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HELPED ME MAKE MONEY--BUT YOU ARE ONE. USING YOUR SPEEDHANDICAPPER AND A CUSTOM SYSTEM I HAVE THAT SHOWS JUST ABOUT EVERY ANGLE CONCEIVABLE AND INTERNAL EARLY AND LATE SPEED IT CAME UP CHARISMATIC, MENIFEE, BADGE, ADONIS SO I PLAYED 1ST 3 WIN+BADGE ACROSS THE BOARD BECAUSE OF THE ODDS+EXACTA & TRI. NOW IF ANYONE HANDICAPPED IT BETTER THAN ME THEY HAD TO GET IT 1,2,3
I BELIEVE WE GOT A TRIPLE CROWN WINNER IF HE CAN KEEP THE CLOSERS AT BAY--IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE THE FIELD.
I STILL THINK IF YOU HAD A SETTING TO AUTO THE BEST CARROLL WHEN YOU HANDICAP IT YOU COULD ELIMINATE ABOUT 80% HORSES INSTANTLY THEN PLAY AROUND WITH REST AND FIGURE THE BEST RACE--WOULD MAKE THINGS FASTER
SHOULD I COMPLAIN.
THANKS AGAIN

Hi Charles,
Thanks
for your reply...by the way, your Speed Handicapping software
is far
and away the best that I have used. There's a ton of info
at your fingertips
and your speed ratings are the best! Last time at the track
I played a ML
12-1 shot to WP, entirely based on your figures, and it wired
a 6F from the
12 hole.

Ken
Dear Charles:
Today
I safely received the disk that you sent to me along with
the book
regarding Las Vegas race books.
I am delighted!
The program installed without a hitch! It is a pleasure
to have the Speed Handicapper working again on my computer.
Since I had
the ITS past performances for Aqueduct for November 22, 2000,
I decided to
give the new version a simple workout. Using only YOUR figures
and letting
the program do the handicapping, I was extremely pleased.
If I had
bet $200.00 to win on each of the top handicapped choices
I would
have had five winners out of nine races. Total bet would have
been
$1,800.00. Total won would have been $3,850.00. Profit would
have been
$2,050.00. Not to shabby for letting the program do all the
work.
Usually,
I bet $100.00 to $200.00 per choice. I DO NOT bet every race.
However, with more positive results like this, I may reconsider!!
Note:
Most of the time I ignore Maiden races on eastern tracks because
workouts
are "hidden" since many are trained on farms with
magnificent training
facilities. Your program produced a $9.90 winner and a $6.20
winner out of
three maiden races (the other maiden did show for $2.70) --
I'm impressed.
By the
way betting only to show would have produced a profit of $620.00
for
the nine races that day. In only one race (the eighth) did
the top choice
finish out of the money.
If you
had boxed AND cartwheeled the program's top choice to the
next three
choices in order, the exacta payoffs would have doubled your
wagers. Those
same four horses produced two trifectas: $93.00 and $275.50.
Kindest regards,
Le
Charles;
I have written before regarding variants.
The best thing that ever happened to my handicapping pace
program was when I added the program from your book "Speed
Handicapping".
Those 900 #'s are gold.
Maybe it's the S. Florida weather, but as far as I am concerned
a variant does not exist.
I look forward each week to your articles.
Regards
Karl
Hi,
Hol. race 3, Speed Handicapper's top choice # 2 U U STAR at
3-1 went off at
almost 25-1 and I had a deuce on him. Not bad.

Somedays
you step in it, Somedays you don't.
First
of all let me say that the only thing better than Speed Handicapper
is

Hi
Charles,
Thanks for the follow up. I think I've got it going now and
I do want to thank you for your concern in
getting the program up and running. You are a pleasure to
do business with.
Take
care.
