Using Daily Racing Form Formulator 4.1 Data Files

Note: DRF now offers an online version of Formulator which does not yet allow you to export data files.

From DRF: For the immediate future, you will continue to use your software version of Formulator for all of your exporting needs. Eventually we will have an Exporting and Downloading Center available through Formulator Web. More information will be provided once we get closer to the launch of this Exporting and Downloading Center, but for now, please continue to export through your software version of Formulator.

DRF Formulator 4.1 adds an excellent file management system.**(This was before MS VISTA; see note below.)

We recommend that you accept the default file locations set by the program.**

When exporting race cards for use with Speed Handicapper™ v5.0 use the export settings shown below.

• Select Pre-4.1 Settings
• DO NOT Check the "Include Column Headers" option

That's it! When you open files in Speed Handicapper™ v5.0 navigate in the file open window to C:\Program Files\DRF\Form41\Export and you will find your files in folders organized by track or date as you selected, ready to go.

**Microsoft VISTA operating system is designed to protect sensitive areas of the operating system, including the Program Files folder, which is where the DRF file management system is located. When you download race files from DRF to the default directory in C:\Program Files\DRF\Data, you are using administrative privileges to override the system protection features of VISTA. You can get away with this, but it is not good practice. Hopefully DRF will revise its default downloading path to a safer location as PostTime Daily and others have done,
