Handicapping
with Speed Handicapper V5.0

One of the best
computer programs I have used as a "tool" to select winning
horses. You'll notice I said "tool." Picking winners in
the Thoroughbred game is subjective at best and based on decisions
you make from the information provided by the program. This program
shows the contenders based on the running line you choose. With
that in mind it is important to note that I seldom ever select a
line based on a horses LAST performance. The public does that and
I want to go against the public as much as possible. I want to select
a running line that best represents what I feel the horse is capable
of running to at this particular race at this particular time.
Remember, horses
run for MONEY. I want to select horses that have performed well
at the PURSE level that they are running for now. Not necessarily
the CLASS level. The old adage used to be that a $10,000 claimer
from one track could go to another track at the $10,000 level and
win. Don't you believe it! I want to look at where the horse has
been competitive at today's PURSE level. With that in mind I utilize
the past performance info provided by Post Time Daily. After selecting
what I feel is the representative running line for the horses in
a particular race, I do two things. First I look at the race from
the Track Constant Module set at 100%. Then I look at the race from
The Variant Module set at 100%. I then look at the top four horses
from the two Modules and proceed to make my handicapping decisions.
Horse Players
utilize different methods to obtain results. Hopefully, I have presented
another prospective to selecting winning horses.
